Katrin Tea Cozy

Katrin Tea Cozy is a tea colander perfect for holding the teapot warm . The hat is knitted in a traditional Faroese pattern on the outside and stripes on the inside. The hat can also be knitted with stripes or just one color if you want a simpler style. If you knit without a pattern, the hat will not keep you warm as well as if you knit with a pattern. The hat in the picture is size 1 knitted in Peruvian from Filcolana in the colors Lilac (258) and Grape Royal (235).

Knitting tension (after washing and block): 20 stitches x 23 rows pattern knit on 5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm Note: If you knit looser/tighter pattern stitches than stockinette stitches, you need to adjust the needle size accordingly.

Recommended needles: Circular needle 5 mm (40-60 cm) and 4.5 mm circular needles (40-60 cm)

Yarn suggestions: 200 (200) 220 g Peruvian from Filcolana (50 g = 100 m)

or 200 (200) 220 g Donegal Tweed+ from Lang Yarns (50 g = 105 m)

Color distribution: 100 (100) 100 g for base color and 100 (100) 120 g for pattern color
