Kirstina Scrunchie

Kirstina Scrunchie (Kirstina Hair Elastic) is a hair elastic with a Nordic inspired pattern. The elastic holds the hair well in place, as it also has an elastic inside. The cast-off is what makes the pattern more difficult if you choose to make a knit cast-off around the elastic. The elastic in the picture is knitted in hand-dyed Sock from Unik Garn in the color Delfin.

Knitting tension (after washing and block): 34 stitches x 33 rows pattern knit on 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

Recommended needles: Circular needle 3 mm (40 cm) and circular needle 2.5 mm (40 cm) or double pointed needles 3 mm, and possibly needle 5 or 6 mm as an auxiliary needle for closing the hair elastic .

Additional materials: Strong hair elastic approx. 1 cm wide

Yarn suggestion: 30 g Hand-dyed Sock from Unik Garn (100 g = 400 m)

or 30 g London Merino fine from Mayflower (50 g = 175 m)

Color distribution: 15 g for base color and 15 g for pattern color
